Room to grow: 6th annual wine, food fest finds new home Reply

????????????????The 6th annual Dripping with Taste Wine & Food Festival kicks off the Hill Country’s fall wine & food festival season this year on Saturday, September 14, from Noon – 7:00pm. The 2013 event is called the Dripping with Taste Wine, Food & Arts Festival, with plans to take the experience up a notch under the new name and in a new, more spacious home to host the event known for having the most Texas wines under one roof.

“We’re glad to be showcasing wineries such as our own Bell Springs Winery, Westcave Cellars, Duchman Family Winery and Driftwood Vineyards but guests will also be able to taste wines from around the state,” said Visitors Bureau director, Pam Owens.  “Twisted X Brewing Company, Dripping Springs’ first brewery, will also be on hand with samples of their Tex-Mex beer.” photo

The event will be housed in the brand new Dripping Springs Ranch Park Event Center Pavilion. Workers are still putting finishing touches on the huge multi-use center in the City’s newest park on RR 12, just a few miles north of Hwy 290.  Last year’s event was hosted on the grounds of the beautiful and popular Texas Hill Country Olive Company Tasting Room and Orchard in Dripping Springs, but the venue overflowed with a record 2,000+ visitors who turned out to sample and purchase local wines, beers, foods, and handcrafted goods.

More than 40 specialty vendors will feature their goods under the covered 17,000 sq ft “front porch” area, with everything from alpaca shawls to singular hand-tooled silver jewelry and, of course, all things wine-related.  And this year’s inaugural arts component will feature interactive painting by Pinot’s Palette for festival visitors.

The day will include live music, as well, along with a juried art show by the Artist Alliance of the Hill Country (AAHC). This newly formed group joins forces with the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce for the first time, to participate in the Festival.  The event will be the first AAHC sponsored Juried Art Show welcoming members and non-members to exhibit their work.

“The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce is so pleased that Dripping withTaste will be the first major experience in the City’s new Event Center,” said Chamber Executive Director, Sherrie Parks. “We encourage everyone to come out and explore this great building and have some fun with us. We even have room for a TV lounge this year, so don’t let fear of missing that football game keep you home! ,“ Parks added. awards
