More about Moody and her expanding practice, in her own words:Sherie Headshot

 WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

I was born and raised in Texas, but have lived in New Mexico, Washington, Alaska and Belize. I have always loved my sunny Texas, and knew I would want to land here for good. After living in Austin for many years, I craved

some space and moved to the area four years ago because of the near Hill Country’s beauty, charm, and proximity to Austin.

Sherie FaceRejuvLogoWHAT IS FACE REJUVENATION AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Energy light rejuvenation – or “ELR” – uses color light and low-level micro current for regeneration of healthy skin tissue. It encourages collagen production, smooths fine lines and wrinkles, firms skin tone, improves skin texture, diminishes blemishes and breakouts, and minimizes puffiness.

It also gives the deep muscles that hold everything in place a “work out,” resulting in a lifting on the whole face and neck. There is NO down time, and NO needles, discomfort, redness, flakiness, etc.

Bonus! ELR is very relaxing and people often fall asleep during treatment.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM TREATMENTS?

People say they are more relaxed, have more energy overall, and sleep better during the treatment period… if these can be called “side effects.”

WHO BENEFITS FROM FACIAL REJUVENATION?

Anyone that wants to look and feel better.  I often work on brides and mothers of the brides so they have their best face for their big day. Currently, I’m working on Mrs. Texas contestant, Annamarie Dean (Mrs. Capitol City), to prepare for the pageants. She looks gorgeous!

YOU’RE ALSO AN ACUPUNCTURIST AND HERBALIST?Acupuncture

I graduated from AOMA (Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin) in 2007.  I’ve always been drawn to natural treatments and medicine to help people live better lives. That desire, coupled with my own experiences with pain and losses in life, led me to explore how I might help learn to people when traditional western medicine approaches could not. I knew there were kinder health answers out there that were less harmful to the body than popping a pill for every little thing and having to live with the side effects. And, I learned, there are!

HOW FREQUENT AND HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS FOR FACE REJUVENATION OR ACUPUNCTURE?

For maximum benefit, face rejuvenation treatments are recommended twice per week in consecutive weeks for a series of 5, 10, or 20 treatments. Each treatment is 45 minutes to an hour. Schedule by calling 512-699-5362 More…

In this online series, meet some of the local providers coming together on Saturday, April 5th, to present the 2nd Annual Texas Olive Festival. Proceeds from this year’s festival will benefit the Sustainable Food Center. Here is SFC Development Director, Angela Osborn:SFC_FarmersMarket_-151

WHAT DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION DO?

Sustainable Food Center cultivates a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. SFC envisions a food-secure community where all children and adults grow, share, and prepare healthy, local food.

From seed to table, SFC creates opportunities for individuals to make healthy food choices and to participate in a vibrant local food system. Through organic food gardening, relationships with area farmers, interactive cooking classes and nutrition education, children and adults have increased access to locally grown food and are empowered to improve the long-term health of Central Texans and our environment.
