Fall Fest 2013 transports visitors back to area pioneer days on Saturday, 9/28 Reply

100_0292Take a step back in time and learn about the rich history and heritage of Dripping Springs at the 23rd annual Fall Fest Pioneer Day. This popular, family-friendly annual event takes place at The Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead – aka the “Pound House” –  located at Founders Park on RR12 North in Dripping Springs on Saturday, September 28th from 10am to 4pm.

The pioneer-themed festival transforms the historical farmstead grounds into an 1850’s era celebration, featuring live music and good food, along with historical period demonstrations and educational exhibits for young and old, all in and around the shade of ancient live oak trees. The largest old oak – which spreads its boughs over a large portion of the middle of the property and is called the Legend Oak because of the stories it could tell – is said to be over 400 years old. PoundHouse

“The annual Fall Fest Pioneer Days is really a great opportunity for the community to learn more about the pioneer roots of Dripping Springs,” said Jeanette Ramirez, executive director of the Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead  and this year’s event chair. “Visitors enjoy learning more about the rich heritage of the early days of Texas pioneers.”
