NOW MEET THE WITHOUT REGRETS FOUNDATION WITH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TARA BALLARD:

WHEN, HOW, AND WHY WAS YOUR ORGANIZATION FOUNDED?wwdphotography.com for prints-33

This organization was founded in June 2011 and received 501c3 status in October 2011. In less than one year the co-founders of this organization knew three people that passed away and left behind young children. They felt there must be something that can be done to help families like these. One of the people that passed away was a lifelong Yankees fan who always wanted to take his son to a game but never get that chance. He left behind a 4 year old who may have a hard time remembering his father because of the short time they had together yet if they had that one special experience together, the son would always have those memories to hold onto. The founders of Without Regrets felt that there should be an organization to help families facing this difficult situation to create memories that would last forever for these children.

WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY MISSION?

Without Regrets Foundation provides gravely ill parents and their minor children with memorable family experiences. This special time together creates memories that will last forever for children losing a parent. .

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THESE EFFORTS?

IMG_1036We have seen many families make dreams come true. I think the most memorable was Nicki. She was a 36 year old mother of four with breast cancer that had spread to her liver, lungs and brain. Nicki wanted to show her children the town she grew up in and the things she enjoyed doing as a child. We sent this sweet family to South Dakota to do just that. They had an amazing time! Two of the children also got to meet their grandfather for the first time. And during their trip, Nicki and her sister, who had lost their own mother the year before, were also able to spread their mother’s ashes.

WHAT ARE YOUR ORGANIZATION’S GOALS IN 2015?keen rainbow

Our goals are for Without Regrets to continue to grow. We hope to continue raising awareness of the organization to be able to help more families. We hope to help 15 new families in 2015.

WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY MISSION?

Our mission is to promote healing and inspire hope for children in crisis. For the children who have suffered abuse and neglect, we provide safe and loving environments so they may form healthy relationships and look forward to a brighter future. Our vision is that all children deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to flourish.
