NOW MEET THUNDERING PAWS ANIMAL SANCTUARY:

WHEN, HOW AND WHY WAS YOUR ORGANIZATION FOUNDED?

In July, 2001, we got together a board of directors to complete the 501-3(c) documents.  We organized to care for homeless, abused, and neglected animals. Our director is Anne Zabolio.  images

WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY MISSION?

To offer a safe haven for animals of all kinds, with an emphasis on domestic animals, who are homeless, neglected, injured or abused.  Our goal is to respect animals as individual beings with spirits who deserve the right to live a happy and healthy life, regardless of their attitude toward humans and human contact.

WHAT KINDS OF THINGS HAPPEN IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH YOUR ORGANIZATION’S EFFORTS?

images-1Here is just one example: We received a call from a family who needed help to keep their many cats at their trailer in D.S.  We provided food, water, and temporary shelter for dozens of happy, friendly, healthy cats. Two years later, the situation had deteriorated: with the weather heating up, we were called to the trailer where there were 41 cats without food, water, or ventilation.  With the cooperation of a lot of people, and the support of our donors, we were able to help the cats.  Many have been adopted and some are still available for adoption.

WHAT ARE YOUR ORGANIZATION’S PRIMARY GOALS IN 2015? images

We seek to further our adoption program and arrange funding to purchase a van for the program. We will also recruit additional foster homes for dogs and cats.  We will re-vamp our trap-spay-neuter program for homeless cats and recruit volunteers to trap and transport.  As always, our goal continues to be building our base of funding. We ask donors to support our mission with at least $10/month.
