Dripping with Taste Wine & Food Festival organizers are quick to point out that the event would not be possible without the time and many talents that their high-octane volunteers bring to the table.

Danielle Lombino with Panacea Mortgage is one of those high-value volunteers. This year, Danielle “loaned” her talents to the team responsible for soliciting festival sponsorships (they exceeded their goals!) and entertainment (5-7 live bands!).

WHAT IS YOUR NAME & TITLE, AND/OR THE NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS? WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU DO?

I’m the president and senior loan consultant for Panacea Mortgage. I provide financing for the American dream, opening doors to home ownership through a multitude of loan programs, including loans for many first-time homebuyer options.

WHEN WAS YOUR BUSINESS ESTABLISHED? HOW DID YOU BECOME INVOLVED IN YOUR BUSINESS AND/OR ITS INDUSTRY?

The parent company incorporated in February, 1988. I went to work for them in June, 1988. After obtaining my real estate license in 1985, and selling real estate for a brief time, I discovered my love for originating loans. I started as an originator with the company and quickly moved into management, maintaining that position and running the company through 1998, when the previous owner was ready to retire. It was a given that I would purchase the business from him when he was ready, so the transition was seamless.

WHAT DID YOU DO PRIOR TO BECOMING INVOLVED WITH THIS BUSINESS? WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND AND/OR EDUCATION, TRAINING?

It was a requirement to have a real estate license to originate loans and after acquiring the business I obtained my Real Estate Brokers license.

WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR, AND WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

I took the business to new levels after acquiring what was essentially a “mom & pop” shop. At the height of the industry growth in 2004, we had 11 loan originators and 3 loan processors, with several originators earning well into the six figures income category.

We are now living through an ever-changing lending environment and it is important to stay abreast of all new loan programs that might benefit borrowers. We are continually taking program certification courses to keep up.
