Crime doesn’t pay…but the Hays County Crime Stoppers does!
Robert Rangel, one of the Hays County Most Wanted Fugitives, was arrested this week by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit based on a Crime Stoppers tip. The tipster is now eligible for a cash reward. The Hays County Sheriff’s Office called the arrest a great effort between the community and law enforcement.
According to the Hays County Crime Stoppers Facebook page, Crime Stoppers pays a reward of up to $1000 to anyone who provides information that leads police to the arrest and/or grand jury indictment of those involved in or wanted for a Felony crime.
When a call is made to Crime Stoppers, the caller remains anonymous and is given a code number that is later used for payment of the reward. Crime Stoppers says the caller’s identity is never revealed and the individual has no further involvement in the case.
Crime Stoppers will also pay rewards for info about Felony crimes such as drug trafficking, gangs, home invasions and wanted felons.
